I have downloaded the source, I will have to see if I can find a way to build it as I don't keep the recent VS packages installed, only the binaries, includes and libs. I have a usable version of Winfile that some guys made a set of stub DLLs for and I used it through Win7 and now Win10, the original WinNT version ran fine on Win2000 and XP.

Hmmmm,

I need a favour from anyone who has a current VS setup working, it would be a melodrama to try and build it without the VS environment so if any generous soul has this going, I would appreciate a 64 bit version being built.

The attached zip file was 22 bytes in length. If you can manage it, a 64 bit release build would be very useful.

Not to worry, I found the compiled 64 bit binary at the above link.

I mustn't have added the files to the zip, amongst all of the excitement   :icon_redface:

If you get the time, a release 64 bit version would be appreciated. I have had a look at the project file but its not designed for mere humans to read.  :P

See Slant's What are the best file managers for Windows? for a comparison. I am stuck with FreeCommander, though.

Total Commander is my best friend for 24 years.

I have used Winfile.exe since NT version 4.0, always been a decent fast file manager. I picked up bad habits back in the days of MS-DOS 5.0 using the DosShell and I am still a lot faster at directory movement and modification than with other methods. I can use Explorer but its slow in comparison.

Adamanteus,

This version works fine. Did you do the extra settings on the File menu ?
