Window 10 has hijacked my f1 help key!
« on: May 05, 2018, 10:20:46 AM »
The latest update to windows 10 which ran today, traps the F1 key for it self and brings up windows 10 help.  Programs that formerly had a help function tagged to f1 no longer do.

Does anyone know how to stop this noxious behavior?  Every link I found online only disables f1 completely.  I need to return it to it's former behavior where the program with focus gets  the F1 key.

Scratch that.  It's just hijacked WIN32.HLP again.

I occasionally get the same problem if Windows does a serious update, just run your batch file again.  :P

There is another solution: Have a look at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\hlpfile\shell\open\command. Then move the "good" WinHlp32 to a safe folder, create a en-US subfolder, and copy the .mui file there. Works like a charm ;)
