Across the river equals half to three-quarters of SA - that is if you are talking about the
Vaal or Orange river.  Cape Town is way down south. So is the braai (barbecue to others) on ?

Hallo Magnus,

(I did not know that you can speak Dutch.)

Dear Siekmanski.

Of maak soos KF en  ander weivelde soek.
 :P
So tussendeur dis nogal interesant :
Snaaks genoeg ek kan ook Nederlands lees.

We are connected, not only with programming languages.  :t

Afrikaans is an old Dutch dialect from the boers ( Dutch farmers ) I think.
Swedish sounds like a mix of German, English, Dutch and Frysk.

Siekmanski & daydreamer, the SA boere are "the caucasians" born and bred for last 400 years in the South of Africa.
They are descended from the Dutch, Germans, French and English immigrants and invaders (take your pick)...

To read the language just takes insight into the languages
of the above. I am happy to share this with yourselves,
we are all one anyway, in the end that is.

Dash ighst bist das outlander..? :t  probably spelt that wrong..

Actually every human being is an invader of the southern tip of africa.
It's laughable that some try to claim their right to the land...  :icon_rolleyes:

You guys would do OK about 50 miles north of Sydney where the most common dialect is Afrikan. Now look on the bright side, no one here would bother to try and shoot you, it would be a waste of ammunition. Little chance of being assaulted as most are too lazy and if you are smart enough to make a Buck$ then you may even get some admirers.  :P
