Nice looking Jaguar car.
« on: December 27, 2017, 08:12:37 PM »
I saw this car parked near the front of my place and it was also nice and clean so I shot some test footage of it. Its shot in 1080x50 with the Sony video camera I have had for about 2 weeks and I just about have all the settngs knackered (know how to use them). Slowing the shutter speed to 50 helped a lot as it smoothed out any panning and I had a look at some test footage on a 50 inch 4k screen that a guy down the road has and its looking close to being as good as 4k footage. Its a shame the Sony manual is so bad, the camera seems to be very good but I have had to learn what it does by test piece as the manual is a typical Japanese company who are now getting things made in China including the printing and creation of the manual.

I does not have the classic Japanese "May it last you many lifetimes" but it definitely has that Chinese technical specs feel to it.  :P

Your weather on the street is pleasant as in a heavenly place, I haven't seen so much sun for 7 years. In Germany, even during the summer, very lifeless colors  :icon_confused: What is the camera model?

The camera is a Sony FDR AX53 and as I am in Australia it runs at PAL 25 and 50 frame. I come from an SLR background and this is my first serious dedicated video camera and it took a little to get used to but I have got most of it by now. The video is tweaked with the software I posted in the 64 bit MASM forum which is a front end to ffmpeg and if you take the video correctly the software will change it from OK to very good image clarity.

With sunshine, be careful of what you wish for, in photography it burns out highlights and raises the colour temperature, with people there is clear reason why Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world. I grew up in the heat so I am used to it but I wear a big hat in the summer to stop my head and neck from getting fried and run around in stubbies and a T shirt so I don't overheat.

You will like the history, after a discussion over a couple of beers, the original manufacturers had to work out a name and they eventually settled on the name of the short beer bottles they were drinking out of, Stubbies. Since their inception they have been considered to be in bad taste and were generally worn by guys on building sites, interstate truck drivers and were popular with slobs at weekend barbecues. You wore them in hot weather where you got cooked if you wore much more.  :P

The photo is Paul Hogan and it looks early 70s.

I had heard of the term for beer bottles before, Olympia beer from Washington state ,also Coors used those bottles,an the term long neck also refers to beer bottles.

That looks like the normal longnecks we get here, sad part is I am no longer a beer drinker as it does not agree with my guts, a pure malt man these days.

Just a little note from me as a lover of beer: Staropramen (that means as much as old wells) is a very good beer from Prague.
