First of all, I must tell that I'm agree with the concept of euthanasia, but I have found this news, a bit strange, regarding a law in Canada.
according to author of Losing our Dignity, Charles Camosy, the C-7 Bill or 'the euthanasia law' bill passed last year, opens up suicide to those who are so poor they 'can't live with dignity'

Science Fiction?
Mr Bernardi said in 2023 the government has ruled those who are experiencing mental health issues can use the service – even if it was their only medical condition.

Its an unhappy choice but some seriously ill people who are terminal go out in the most terrible pain and misery and in at least some hospitals, they get filled with heroine to relieve the pain and that often kills them. My mum as she was fading with an uncurable cancer had that option with a portable gadget but she used it sparingly as it effected her concentration. She preferred to be coherant.
No easy answer but at the bottom linem it should be an option that the seriously ill person should have and importantly, not be subject to any form of coercion either for against euthanasia.

Yes, I agree with all of that

So, does the anti-woke brigade offer any proof that Trudeau wants to solve the poverty problem with euthanasia?
-
I don't know much of this, but if this is true, offering euthanasia to those so poor that can't live with dignity is a bit odd, to say the least. Define first what it is to live with dignity.

Actually, it would be a bit odd, but as long as you don't bring evidence, this is just fake news.

> live with dignity
It may have some to do with not having an empty stomach, empty pocket or nowhere to live. For elderly people who are in bad shape, these ordinary things matter but then there are elderly people with debilitating health conditions, lack of mobility, severe pain, unable to care for themselves and often die of lonliness. This is a problem in Japan but I imagine it also happens in many other countries.

No one should have to seek Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) because of a government’s refusal to act in the best interests of individuals experiencing homeless or disability. Denise needs the Ontario government to act today. She has no more time to spare.
She should contact Mr Ford:
Doug Ford is the 26th and current premier of Ontario. He took office on June 29, 2018, following the 2018 Ontario election where his Progressive Conservative (PC) party won a majority of seats in the Ontario Legislature.

Its a simple distinction, dead people (apart from the cost of planting them) don't cost anything so allowing a situation where very poor people have the option to bump themselves off will always be on the table. I see the solution being some form of socialism that ensures that there is a safety net so that people don't end up living in misery and poverty.
It can be abused but done properly, it removes such problems and gives everyone a chance to live like a human being. Simple things like somewhere to live, something to eat and a chance to interact with other people is the model for a viable society, not a money driven, profit system that grinds the face of the poor.
I have seen example here in OZ of people who had nothing and ended up living on the street being provided with housing, albeit small, and they flourish, turn into human beings, develop a lifestyle and become productive. I would rather see this than people living rough in the cold with empty stomachs.
