I downloaded Windows Defender Offline to see what's under the hood.
Even though I have the drivers and programs to burn CDs, I was told to download and install IMAPI version 2.0.
I installed it on a pen drive and rebooted as per the instructions.
BIOS was set to look at a USB drive first.
It didn't boot from the pendrive and booted from the hard drive.
So I decided to install it to a CD.
Booted that puppy up, with BIOS set to look for a CD drive first and it
did attempt to boot from the CD.
A pretty blue icon was on the screen, but after 10 minutes of seeing that icon and no messages, I shut er down.
Is Windows Defender Offline in Beta testing ?
I have a second question.
I use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall programs and looked to see if Windows Hot Fixes and IMAPI version 2.0 were listed.
They weren't listed and they weren't listed in Windows Add/Remove Programs either.
The IMAPI version 2.0 install/upgrade that I just installed was not there.
So...can I uninstall those ?
