Title: when you're bored and feel like 'scripting' :) :)
Post by: K_F on December 23, 2017, 05:57:16 PM
You probably heard of this game/sim https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/ (https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/).
Looks like a silly game.. but modded it can be quiet realistic, similar to http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ (http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/).
Orbiter, although more realistic, lacks a lot to make it interesting.

With KSP comes a programming/scripting mod (KOS) with which you can play with. Add to this is all the options of flavouring your own rocket.
It's quite educational...

Here's a 4x speed video of my own space agency
A lot of calculations, rocket 'design'..etc.. and to push it into orbit.

That's cool. Is that a satellite?

It's part of my ISS which will be auto-built by computer - no astronauts.
This is the habitat module (17 tons) with life support functions.

The trick is to match the Target/Ship markers and then bring the parts together over a few orbits.
These are positions/angles in space for creating intercept paths.

Once I have a complete ISS design, I'll send them up for docking, but for the moment I have the alignments sorted out.
.. and make a video
