Title: Introducing myself
Post by: CaptainPanda on June 21, 2018, 09:13:29 AM
Hi all,

Already asked a question here but thought that I'd introduce myself formally.

I am an Irish programming taking a year out of college so I'm giving myself some little projects to give myself something productive to do in that time.

I have been teaching myself programming for 10 years so I am decent enough at high level programming languages like C/C++, Python, Rust etc.

The two I have set for myself is writing a Doom engine written in C++ and using DirectX 11
and creating a Zork style game written in MASM.

So I am learning MASM as I go while slowly implementing piece by piece the code needed to create the game. I am probably doing things very inefficiently but premature optimisation is a sin or so I tell myself to stop my inner perfectionist.

I will probably be heavily using this forum to ask questions and hopefully show off the end product when I get a functional program.

Hi CaptainPanda, welcome to the forum.

We have a MASM Game Development forum.
http://masm32.com/board/index.php?board=62.0

We need people to post great code and good ideas for game creation there.

Interesting bug post you had there.

All the best.

That's exactly what this forum is meant for - welcome :icon14:
