Title: laptop power consumption???
Post by: daydreamer on February 24, 2021, 04:17:57 AM
electric price goes up and down, and one advice to minimize power consumption,is unplug tv and electronics, because they draw still some power when idle and 24/7,when worst case scenario when on vacation some other place,it adds up
so I bought a cheap energy meter, because I wanted to measure how much, and also know if powered laptop at all times, consumes how much idle, even when battery is fully charged and power supply designed for max output=charge battery fast
so I am doing it for fun, because energy is even cheap here when most expensive, only if you have oldschool electric heating in old badly isolated stone house when -15-20c,can surprise you with much bigger electric bill

best case scenario today here,is while go on vacation by train and bring it with you and train and many places let you use free electric outlets

still will be interesting lazy old behavior leave everything on 24/7 and still plugged in vs,turn off and unplugged as much as possible, minimum saving probably is my sleep hours+outdoor errands
