Hi six_L, much of the differences in political systems are due to both history and location and often it is very hard to make comparisons without a serious comprehension of both. As an Australian, our history is very different to an ancient culture like China and is driven by circumstances that are very different to China's history.

Differing from many western country's propaganda, China has done many things that are near miraculous. In the span of my lifetime, China has raised many millions of people out of poverty, has delivered massive gains in infrastructure around what is a big country and produced a manufacturing economic base that is probably the most powerful in the world.

These things could only have been done in a heavily controlled society and with a reasonable level of comprehension, a society that reflects to general disposition of a country's population. That the vast majority of people in China approve of how their government works says it fits the task. Any country has its own internal detractors and China is no exception but there are other factors that come into play.

Foreign interference in Hong Kong wrecked what was a viable working system and it was closed down and directly controlled from Beijing to ensure that it could not be used to inflitrate into and damage the sovereignty of China.

Now Australian has a very different history, a hard flat hot country that required people who were able to pioneer their way into a hostile environment and survive there. Originally a penal colony where displaced people were sent for often trivial offences like stealing a loaf of bread when they faced starvation in England. This is why there is very little respect for old country historical values and social norms.

It is also a country of immigrants with a wide array of origins from around the world that moved here to avoid the disasters in their own country of origin. This is why Australia will never cow tow to any foreign power and many have tried. We suffered the English until they gave up on us in 1901 (Federation). A variety of European countries, the US, the failed Japanese invasion, the US alliance (ANZUS), the foolish Korean war, many have tried, all have failed.

Australia is a middle power that is an ally of the US, something that has been the case since WW2 and that will not change in a hurry. If I had any advice to give to China, it would be, don't go down the road of empires before you. Sabre rattling and threatening other countries has damaged China's reputation and its economy. Use the historical approach of trade and friendship that China used to do so well. With Taiwan, sell them your own fighter jets, they are generally very good and would be a lot cheaper than US made ones.

With more trade and friendship between mainland China and Taiwan, they would eventually become part of the PLA and intergrate into China's economy.

There is one exception I would like to see in China, while I well understand why Xi Jinping has reined in the massive corporations in China, I would like to see some exception for the TenCent corporation as they are funding the restoration of a couple of very important sections of the great wall.

If I live long enough and the miseries of pandemics end and the relations between China and Australia improve enough, there are a number of sections of the great wall I would like to walk on. Jiankou, Huanghuacheng, Simatai and a few others before I get too old to do it.

We did see this type of conduct here in OZ, effectively "pigz gone mad", "drunk with power", "unaccountable", genuine heros who bashed old ladies, arrested a pregnant woman in Victoria for having posted data on social media, cowardly conduct brutalising ordinary people conducting peaceful protests from losing their jobs and having their small business shut down and sent broke.

How dare they complain about going broke, losing their income, business and in some cases their home. They should be willing to grovel in servitude to authoritarian abuse and willingly go hungry.

None the less, these gutless bastards are starting to eye the next election and we are starting to see the more draconian abuse disappearing.

A piece of pure comedy in my state NSW. The minister of police and the police commissioner were dragged before the state upper house and given a good working over. The minister was put into a different ministry and the commissioner retired. Even though it was reasonably dry viewing, it was funny to see this pair of bastards squarming.

I agree with your viewpoint. now we don't announce that our political system is best,
your political system is bad. Whether it is good or not depends on the people of local countries.
First of all, we should respect the choices of the people in every country.

The western world has made great contributions to the development of human civilizations.
In natural science, almost all of the content which we learn in university comes from the western world.
TV,electricity,computer,airplane,aerospace,etc.
Even the core(Marxism) of our political system also comes from the western world.
