Agree with him, but when he says "west" and "Europe", I'm assuming it's a figure of speech. In the specific case of Spain, it doesn't paint anything, just what they tell it to do. Refining more, I would say that this is an Anglo-Saxon case and more specifically from the USA, more than UK. Europe would have done better to get along with Russia.

Well, look at the alternative, Europe cannot get enough energy to keep it warm in the winter, let alone run its industry. Faltering economies, cold and hungry people, infighting between EU countries, I can only wonder how long people across Europe will put up with it. Governments changing, riots, violence in the streets, I wonder how long it will take for the penny to drop ?

The only friend Europe HAD was Russia with their cheap energy but by kissing the arse of the US energy sector, the so called "garden" is looking like a desert with a few weeds in it.

Maybe the English I use doesn't express what I want to say, or I just don't understand you.

If the EU and Russia became trading partners, and even reached some kind of affiliation in the European Union project, I think both sides would win.

I don't know if Russia had in mind at the beginning of the war to simply annex the Ukraine and that's it, but I think that today it must have been very clear to them that this is not feasible. The distrust that seems to exist in the countries of the former communist bloc of the USSR towards Russia, I think is due more to nationalist resentment than to proven facts. The problem is that this confrontation with Russia, to which some vehemently want to go, is dragging others into an unfavorable situation.

What you said made perfect sense.

Europe needs friends that are not sucking the life out of them and Russia wants its people to be treated like human beings, not a nazi era inferior race.

'fraid the EU (and Euro) is not going to last much longer.
The countries will split back into their previous national states and currencies
It also looks like a world digital currency will be available, most likely linked to each individual currencies, but this time there will be no exchange rate fluctuations.

This is what 'Putin' means when he always mentions 'multipolar states' (No globalisation).

'Sire, Sire!... the peasants are Revolting !!!'
'Yes, they are.. aren't they....'
