Back to dialup
« on: September 17, 2013, 09:57:16 AM »
I no longer have wireless internet and am back to dialup at 50 -53 K connects.

Since I don't have a cell phone, that ties up my phone line but my USB modem might have features that I have not investigated.

Verizon won't let you use any DSL modem, you have to buy it from them.

Not gonna happen. I think I miss AT&T.

I have been making progress with OpenSuse, and I just recently got my Canon printer going.

The o.s. is not for the feint hearted, but it's the easiest and most complete that I have tested.

It's much faster than Windows in terms of networking and internet connectivity.

Browsers exploits or some kind of Comcast popup occasionally "infect" Firefox in OpenSuse.

Comcast offers no reliable fix.

I think that Macrium Reflect is backing up all the non-Windows partitions, but have not done a restore to test that out.
