New Version asking for Admin rights ???
« on: February 08, 2014, 12:18:45 AM »
Ramon... when running the easycode.exe.. it asks for admin rights, which has never happened before - Is this right ??

I haven't given it admin permission yet !

Hi K_F,

Yes, this is right. I re-wrote the Easy Code Manifest file to run Easy Code with admin rights. I don't think that is a problem since the IDE is a programming tool and needs to acces everywhere, but if it is I can remove it for next versions. Users decide!

I was just a bit surprised.
I usually develop under a restricted user for general 'security' reasons.
I would prefer to keep admin rights out of it.

Thanks

I can imagine some use cases where EasyCode is used without non-admin privillege, e.g:
university lab or office workstation. So, yes, I think asking for admin rights should be optional (or removed?).

Other assembly IDEs I'm aware of don't ask for admin rights.

Hi Ramon,

would it be possible to switch off asking for Admin rights also for the newest version (1.07.0.0006 from 22.12.2014) of EasyCode.Go?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards
sonix

Hi sonix,

Sorry, I thought I had removed the Admin rights. That will be fixed for next versions of EC.
