Recently I bought a couple of Sandisk 16 gig USB3 drives Extreme versions and they test up at about 150 meg/sec which is the fastest I have seen out of a flash drive so far. Yesterday I bought a couple of cheapies from a local supermarket and on speed testing they were about twice as fast as the old USB2 of the same size.
So far I have been very pleased with the two USB3 front panels I got hold of from China, they plug into a PCIExpress * 1 on the mainboard which is no big deal as you usually have one that cannot be accessed properly due to the size of some modern video cards and they have the BUS speed to handle the data fast enough. I shoved a couple of old 1TB drives into USB3 cans and plugged them into the respective front panels and they clock at the same speed as they did connected to SATA2 ports on the mainboard so the front panel is a win all round.
