Win 10 question.
« on: June 05, 2015, 08:20:14 PM »
A day or so ago I found an extra tray icon, a piece of blatant Microsoft advertising for Windows 10 free upgrade. It does not have a default way of turning it off. has anyone else had this arrive on their Win7 64 bit version ?

Yeah, anyone with 7 or 8 will be getting it. No big deal, just "hide notification".
More of a pain, using Windows Update in win8 gives me no way to manually check for updates...

I am thinking MS is gonna get a little "crazy" behind this before it is all over.  :dazzled:

I think Microsoft has been crazy for a long time.

I think they have forgotten that they would not have a job/company without customers.

They should give customers what they like and need.

Now Andy you know that Microsoft has been doing just what it wants to do for the last
20 years or so. You and I are nonentities. If the Chinese were smart they would create
a decent OS that the world could use. Linux is a mess - whole bunch of warriors and
no chiefs. I guess they expect you to use a new distro everyday. Nonsense.
Surely some company in this country could produce something that is better and more
user friendly than this continuing debacle from Microsoft! 8 and 10 make me want to puke!

- No doubt, but why do u think MS has thousands of lawyers? A new company would need about a half billion for the software, maybe 10 billion for legal costs. And if they were enough danger from them, not inconceivably MS would have the key guys killed. You're talking many billions: no holds are barred. That's why some other country - has to be outside of the Western legal mess, where US spies and operatives can't go - will do it. China, Russia, or like that
I am NaN ;)

Defects (not shown there) The images are affected by light, objects do not hide them. But besides that. Pretty cool stuff, a good reason for consumers to use Windows 10.

Knowing M$, I bet they are.

But I bet that others will follow, otherwise their OS will be looking old. Which Linux might not care, but Apple would certainly do. Imagine if their drones suddenly feel left behind.

This fake and real holographic technology are the near future (I will guess 5 years top). It would be sad if M$ is the only contender.

As a side note if this is successful, I also believe that houses in the future will have a lot less things than today. As many things will be virtual. And it will be trivially easy for the NSA to spy on everyone.
