In Windows 7 there are tons of useless videos/music files cluttering up the os.
I have tried to delete them but a program called "Trustedinstaller" blocks
the deletion process with the permissions denial.
Anyone know a way around this?
Thanks for any insight.

- Take Ownership of folder containing files you want to delete (see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/ if you want to add it to right click menu)
- Delete files

hope that helps

i wouldn't suggest you go deleting a bunch of files
the results are never good
think about it, how much space do they really take ?

Many thanks Fearless. It worked like a charm.
Got rid of 51,000 bytes called Wildlife.wmv.

To Dave: I hear and heed your caution.
Doing a few a day. They will all be Video and Music files
for which I have no use.
I would also like to delete all languages but English,
but I have no idea where they are in Windows 7.

Figure all together I am talking about several million bytes of garbage.

It's  Helloween ,  I don't want to frighten you just be aware that Trusted Installer always comes at night to those who dare to delete His files

it was probably a theme
well - that one's gone

1) you may have liked that theme later
2) there's probably a "correct" way to get rid of it
3) windows still thinks that theme is there - but for the missing files

you may delete a file you are not using now
but, later on, you will say "why doesn't this feature work"
oh - you deleted the files

all to save 51 KB of file space on a drive that's probably 2 TB
that's ~ 0.000024% of the disk
