little update on my win7 laptop i got,i i used a vga to hdmi converter to send video to my 32 inch monitor because my eyes are not what they were,if you want to know where i found the win7 laptop,mine is a dell,and they have more with win 7

this is the site thee is another dell with win7 for about 400?
here is a lenovo with win7 for $199
and another dell
this one has a 1tb dive

i thought some would love to have a back up win7 box

for my laptop o set up a wireless mouse and the vga to hdmi input to my 32 inch monitor if you wondered.the vga converter also allows sound  as well and had a usb plug to get power that i found on amazon

you could also set up a wireless keyboard as well as the wireless mouse for ease of input when coding

one very good thing about these laptops there is no bloutware on them as far as i can see on my laptop the word program is the open source one and it has GIMP also  the only real commercial prog is adobe reader i am going to attach an external usb drive because the hd is i think only a 160 gb.

If you are game to lift the lid, it may be an easy replacement to put in a half terabyte SSD. A WD Blue 500 gig disk should be reasonably cheap in the US and it would both make the box faster while having a lot more space and lower power demand.

i just ordered two 1tb usb external drives for backups not bad at 43 bucks a pop

you also enjoy your  big display?,even me likes the advantage of not need to compromise which you needed todo with old small monitor,choosed between zoomed out to get the whole picture and zoomed in to draw details or read tiny text ?
I connected wireless mouse/keyboard to old AMD xp computer and connected 40 inch tv with help of DVItoHDMI,but dont get sound working thru tv,only shows up mobo's usual soundcard
AMD had disadvantage of being version step behind intel when it came to SSE,but fast on fpu code

yes,lets write a superfast viruskiller in assembly that kills virus in a matter of few clock cycles :icon_idea:
