Well, Windows 10 just did a giant update and wiped out the hlp system again.  The link  and procedure above still works-http://masm32.com/board/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=5151.0;attach=5240

Read somewhere that MS did NOT include win7 an update to fight off The Wanacry ransomewhere thing. It was suggested because win7 is so well liked and people do not want to upgrade to win10,that this "Threat" may force people to upgrade to win10 out of fear...What is being daid MS did this to make people upgrade to Win10...Cheap shot MS,cheap shot..! My FREE firewall and internet security from Comodo protects from this Ransomeware BTW

Did I mention that Comodo's Internet security is free, they do have a pay one with a lot more features if you want that.

Story here.
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/windows-7-update-microsoft-81-download-windows-10-software-a7684256.html

Social media users are reporting that Microsoft is now blocking access to Windows 7 and 8.1 updates on devices running Intel's Kaby Lake processor.

Instead of the normal download screen, users attempting to update their systems are facing an error message reading, “Your PC uses a processor that is designed for the latest version of Windows.

Intel's latest CPUs will only support Windows 10

Want a cutting-edge CPU? Microsoft has confirmed you'll need Windows 10
..."This enables us to focus on deep integration between Windows and the silicon..."

This is not completely senseless, and in line with the trend to stuff Windows with slower and slower software. Intel, AMD and M$ are working hand in hand, for the benefit of the customer industry. Still running a trusty Core i5? Install the free Visual Studio Community edition, and a few weeks later you'll buy a new notebook with a shiny new cpu :t

My 2 cents.
I would think ALL of windows 10 would be irksome.....
This is my computer and I PAID for it and the software it uses.
It is not for use by any company like Microsoft for what ever purpose
they have in mind.
Wiffie is now on Ubuntu-Mate and it is able to use Gmail.
She is happy. If I could switch, I would in a heart beat.
Shame on you Microsoft.
I heard somewhere that new computers will be made to force Windows
10 down your throat. One wonders if you assemble your own  computer
or have one made if this will still be true?

ESET Smart Security and Sandboxie have  me covered as to this WannaCry virus.
