I think most of the damage was done in the Ballmer era, endless creeping mediocrity driven by endless drivel from Ballmer. You will find that most at Microsoft cannot even pronounce the word "Development" let alone understand what it refers to. One the bright side, at least ML64 is not trying to be a C compiler, it really IS an assembler, piggish manners and all.  :P

If that DVD contains standard msi/cab packages, TLMsiListEx is usable to look what those packages contains.

I think it was under Ballmer that the touch-centric focus got started, and the plan to steamroller the iPhone out of existence.
