I did a quick tweak of a toy that I posted in the PB forum for version 10 so it would build version 9 code which is only slightly different. It builds a simple window with a menu, icon, manifest and version control block that comes in at just under 20k which is respectable for a compiler, especially in this multi-megabyte era. I would certainly recommend if you get a sniff of this type of basic compiler to buy the discounted version 10 as it has some major advantages over the earlier version but the free version 9 can do almost anything that can be done in 32 bit Windows including very competitive dynamic link libraries.
You need to set the paths for the include files and bin directory but this is easy enough to do. I own a mountain of this stuff floating around, the main problem is finding it all.
