Have you got an installation disk for Win7 ? If not you could try making a boot disk image and install it on the new machine but it may not work due to hardware differences.

Hi anunitu,

You can move your Windows 7 installation to another computer.  You need to inject the correct mass storage driver depending on the target hardware.

I would do a full image backup, install it on the new computer then upgrade it to Windows 10 using the tool provided by Microsoft. This is the only way to guarantee that everything is preserved.
Some backup software can work through hardware differences (in most cases). I use Acronis True Image and know it does, but is not free.

I downloaded Erol's link but as usual Microsoft do not make it easy to find. It ended up on my Win10 buried up a very long directory tree based off my user name so after the download finished I copied the ISO to a directory where I could find it. I then use ImgBurn to write the ISO to a DVD and checked the DVD which looks OK.

To install it you will need to find the original installation key from your existing version so that you have the key when you are doing the installation.

The installation key can be extracted from the Registry with the ProduKey utility.
