The first scanner I ever owned was to scan developed photos into computer image format. When digital cameras came out it saved me a lot of time and developing costs. I still edit in a 2001 32 bit applcation but changes in win10 are starting to make it unreliable. You dad's camera seems to be a good one and the images were good quality.
