How to and not to irritate other members
« on: October 08, 2018, 12:26:56 AM »
So this is a tongue in cheeck post from personal experience from
15+ years of masm32 and other related forums.

PLEASE NOTE THE SUBJECT MATERIAL IS VOLATILE.
BE NICE...
DISCLAIMER :
This post does not relate to any specific individuals.
But then again I'm sure some will see themselves regardless.

1) Never assume you are a subject expert - because the
context of the question OR your inability to understand
what they really meant, will be severely tested.

2) Don't post when inhebrehated. The crap I've posted
and regretted is still a haunting memory.

3) The Internet does not forget. So be especially worried
about point 2.

4) A universal language to English translator does not
exist - which typically doesn't reflect the intelligence
or stupidity of the question you are faced with. Do not
judge or be prepared for judgement.

5) Your bias shouldn't be reflected in any of
your posts. It creates polarisation of opinion which
is counterproductive, or at the very least opens you
up to scrutiny.

6) Some people are nasty with a purpose. They either
REALLY want you to succeed and learn OR want to break
you down....You need to figure out which are which,
but finding out might surprise you and take time.

7) Ethics is not a term - it must be your reality.

8.) Finding the answer to a difficult question (in YOUR
opinion) is really easy for others with the passion
within the subject matter. Understand their impatient
attitude with you is because they want you to start
contributing towards THEIR problem area as soon
as possible.

Pps. This was posted from a cellphone,
whilst drinking beer in 40 degree C heat.
Please ignore formatting and spelling and sense.
Which makes at least 4 of the above points moot

Need 2 more commandments to be written.
Inline with all prevalent religions Ill leave those
to the Romans and other properly meek
individuals to sort out. May your Masm be blessed. :icon_confused:

Without source code it's not clear what you are trying to say

And more important: How cold the beer?

We know they are not serious asm programmers if they drink beer, all the guys of old were Scotch drinkers. Different places had different versions of strong spirits, Russia had Wodka, German's had Schnapps, Americans had Bourbon (if it was a good one), our friends in Italy generally drink Vino but as far as I can understand, you can get good brandy there and I know that in the Balkans you can get some fiendish Slivovitz. Folks who live in Turkey have access at some really powerful Raki so around the world there are plenty of good substitutes if you don't drink pure malt.

The trick is of course is to know exactly how much to drink, too little and your assembler will be as bad as Visual Basic, too much and you may not get any written at all but get the balance correct and you can aspire to genius.  :P
