One of the most enlightening  movies I have ever seen. Really worthwhile to watch.

I will have to watch the rest of it but 15 minutes into it, its hitting the right stuff well. I have a mantra for what so many people do.

Eat shit,
Grow fat,
Be sick,
Die young.

I confess to have a slight amount of spare tire at 70 which I have not given up on getting rid of it but with perfect blood pressure, a cholesterol level of 4.00 down from 4.01 10 years ago, perfect heart and all of the blood test analysis working correctly, you are what you eat.

I spent part of my life eating too much, smoking too much and sometimes drinking too much. Now, I am fixing what I can and try to minimize damages.  :icon_rolleyes:
I am amazed, when I look in retrospect at a few bad behaviours, about the amount of time it took me to conclude that I had to change such behaviours. I am feeling much better since I started the turnaround a few years ago and I am still learning from movies like this.

Health in Australia seems top news today, here is the Google translation of an article in Der Spiegel, Germany's most important weekly magazine. They also discuss important security aspects 8)

quit smoking a few tears back

To stop smoking is difficult, sure, but it didn't know it was that painful, anunitu.

The other great movie from these same guys is Cowspiracy. I have seen it on Netflix, don't know if it is available on Youtube.
From it I learned that:
"
Cows produce 150 billion gallons of methane per day. A single cow can produce between 66-132 gallons of methane a day. Methane is 25-100 times more destructive than CO₂."

Yes, cows flatulence is destroying the planet. This is serious.

Something that don't fit very well in the theory is that the flatulence is here from millions of years, and we have a lot of glacial eras (19 only in last 2 millions years) .

Medieval Warming (850-1300 AD) was a lot warmer than today (somebody kill cows after that ?)

Cows fart a lot and there are much more cows nowadays than in Middle Age

Climate change independently of ruminants.
It has been like that in the past. Now, the cows are the single most important factor to climate change, due to flatulence and deflorestation to feed them. Amazonia in Brazil is being destroyed for beef.

Nobody know.

There was less forests in America and Africa in medieval era than today, but climate became colder around 1400 AD anyway.

Mmm.. I'am not sure if less, perhaps similar.
