Duplicate partition entries on an external HD
« on: July 02, 2019, 09:28:18 AM »
         7-1-2019
Stats: WD external HD, Window 10 pro 64-bit-
                  V. 1903 (os build 18362.175)
          UEFI, Clonezilla-live V. 2.6.1-25-amd64.iso

Primary use of the external HD is to back up
   Windows 10.
In the tree on the left hand side everything
is fine until I turn on the external HD. Then
duplicate entries show up. EX: wn7bu. Tried
renaming one of them but it changes both.
Tried deleting one of them and nothing happens.
Did not have this problem running Windows 7 pro
64-bit. Only til I had Windows 10 crammed down
   my throat
Your advice sure would be appreciated.
Oh, and I deleted all the backups in one partition
and it happily deleted all items in the 2nd partition.
Now as you might well guess, I have NO backup of
        Windows 10!!
Mini Tool partition wizard shows only one partition
call wn7bu and was created long ago by Mini Tool.

Thanks Sinsi,
It didn't work. I must have made a mistake.
I did create a restore point.
I'll try again & let you know what happened.

Thank you so much Sinsi.
Only one item is now showing in File Explorer.
One wonders what will happen when they come
out with the next update? Will it generate the
same registry entry that I deleted?????
This one had me going. I didn't know if it was
Windows 10, Clonezille-live or a faulty external drive.
