Title: Installing Visual Studio on Win7 64 Ultimate.
Post by: hutch-- on October 04, 2019, 02:27:13 AM
The world has changed since I last set up VS on Win7. If your Win7 64 has service pack 1 installed, then installing Visual Studio 2019 went without a hitch, installed all of the required DLLs into the system and everything ran OK. I will never use the IDE or any of the other stuff apart from the basic binaries but it means I can use all of my dev stuff from this Win10 box on the Win7 box. The Core2 9650 will handle up to SSE 4.1 so I can write most user code with it, the i7 will handle SSE 4.2 and this Win10 box with a later processor does all of the AVX stuff.
