when you get old,you need to get glasses, first you can't read small text on pc game package that tells minimum/recommended cpu/gpu and OS
so when I am 70 and go into a electronics store and they try to sell me full HDtv,isnt there a chance my eyesight is so bad I won't notice any notable difference, same maybe with blueray?
I watched some Michael Jackson videos as guest at someone who had a big flatscreen tv,they looked lowres pixelated to me

Hi,

If it was filmed/videotaped in low resolution it can look
fairly bad on a high resolution display.  To give it a fair test
you need to compare two native resolution devices side by
side.  Probably not easy to arrange with similar content.

I wear pretty strong glasses.  I can tell the difference
between HDTV and NTSC TV, but it takes a bit of effort
to care about it in most cases.  Most things don't matter
that much.  The content is not that important.  But some
things do matter (some nature films for instance will benefit
from the added detail).

Regards,

Steve N.

i find that, if a movie has a lot of CGI stuff, then it helps if it's hi-def
something like "Transformers", comes to mind
and, who doesn't want to see Megan Fox bent over in hi-def

Good discussion.

I am not yet at the point of needing magnifying glasses.

I can still read the medication inserts for prescription drugs.

I can't see any difference between a Blue Ray movie and a regular one on my 1080p TV.

Maybe a difference can be seen with a much bigger set ?

What has been your experience ?

Andy

i can see a difference, for sure - we have a 42" 1080p TV
but - is it worth it ? - that's a different question

i sometimes prefer the DVD, as they are more likely to have the extra features
i like the blooper reels and deleted scenes, which i guess they don't have room for on blu-ray

Magnum

I am curious as to how far away you are to notice the difference ?

Andy

Have you seen Last Stand ?

First I got A ps3 and the rpg games that only was released on this console
Because I like rpg games ,20+ hours fun per game
My old 14 inch thick tv didn't make it justice
So I bought a 32 inch full HDTV led and carried it home 2km walking
This Wednesday and now I tested both games, blueray,DVD ,dive and standard pal cable tv that comes with the block I rent and because of smothering tech built in tv and play station the only thing I saw was noise disturbing cable tv and was fixed with a new cable

hutch--

The real stars of Transformer were the two robots that kept yabbering at each other in Harlem street language. Whoever put that together had a reasonable sense of humour. As far as the female star of the show, I get to see better looking ass walking around the streets in Sydney in Summer.  :P

you would turn down Megan Fox and Kylie Minogue ?
you may have the bar set too high, my friend

look, this is proof that I am right, old people prefer the real stuff+whisky that improves the looks even better
and I expected this as Steve like blondes and Megan Fox is a non-blonde
