Weird, but then Check Disk (aka CHKDSK.EXE) doesn't actually run when you click "Start" in Win 7; it gets scheduled for the next reboot. Maybe that'll happen. (You should see a message saying so.)

maybe you hit some internal upper bound limitation imposed by Win7?
what file system is on that disk?
I hope it's not FAT? :)

There are different NTFS revisions, maybe W7 is using older one?...
