Last time I used Windows update to update Wiffies Windows pro 32 bit puter it took over 4 hours.
Has anyone any experience with the Windows update MiniTool 3rd party program?
I looks a tad hairy and I would like to use it if possible. 4 hours for an update is
ridiculous.
I have found the MiniTool partition Wizard to be an excellent program. So I assume
that this update program should also be of the same caliber.
Would appreciate your opinions....
Jack,
There are a few things involved here, what OS version are you running and how fast is your internet connection. If there are a large number of updates it can take a long time to get going to finish installing them all, just recently I had to re-install win7 64 and there were 219 updates waiting for it. The update engine kept crashing so I ended up doing them 25 at a time until I got them all.
I had also the same complaint with win 10.
The recent update changing the version number (10.0.10586) had take some hours to be completed.
Thank you Hutch and ToutEnMasm for responding.
Wiffie is running Windows 7 pro 32-bit.
My puter is running Window 7 pro 64-bit downloads at a reasonable rate.
My internet is fiber optics. About a 5mb speed.
In the past on the same puters the windows download was
extremely fast. Not so anymore after the 10 debacle.
I was wondering if the Window update MiniTool 3rd party
software made any difference. I heard it might not let you
change your download options after it is used but I am not
sure about that.
Was hoping it would solve the terrible windows update problem.
