Title: The Spectrum
Post by: stoo23 on November 25, 2024, 03:16:35 PM
I know, I know,.. this post could or perhaps should be elsewhere ... but saying that ... and considering the Gaming focus,.. I just figured Here would be more noticeable than somewhere like The Orphanage

Seen that the other day, and for a tiny moment I thought about getting it, then I shook the nostalgia off. Considering I have a 128K +3 in the shed or attic (cant recall which) in the original box with the manual, but would need an old crt to use. Plus I downloaded some zx emulators a few years ago and played some of those old favorites: Rex, Chuckie Egg, Firelord, Uridium, Jet Set Willie, Operation Wolf, Cybernoid, Knight Lore, Dizzy games etc.

Doesn't anyone make a small/cheap flat-panel display that would work with old units like those?

There Are some modern screens available with in-built TV tuners, which would obviously require an RF connector for Antenna connection.
There are also Some that feature a Video input via the typical RCA connector, perhaps some with 3.5mm jack.

Not sure of any with both.

The Modern 'Spectrum' has 720P HDMI output :)

many years ago, I had a CD with thousands of Commodore & Spectrum games. But the gameplay wasn't as great as I had it in memory from when I was a kid :)

Fearless I prefer emulators of game consoles/old computers , much better than lots of space in tv room, with new, snes, Genesis, many 4-5 different PlayStation generations, Atari,c64,Amiga, old dos PC, spectrum..., + all 1000 games in physical form like rom cassettes, diskettes , cd/dvd roms
Imagine there is barely room for the human body of one player  :greenclp:
