Title: The book «The Art of ARM Assembly» by Randall Hyde
Post by: lucho on December 08, 2024, 07:32:25 PM
This autumn, the author of the famous "Art of Assembly" book series has completed (https://randallhyde.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=733) the editing of Volume 1 (https://nostarch.com/art-arm-assembly-volume-1) of his new book, "The Art of ARM Assembly" (ISBN 9781718502826). It deals with the 64-bit ARM64, a.k.a. "aarch64". (The earlier ARM32 will be examined by Volume 2 (https://masm32.com/board/index.php?topic=11931).)

As far as I can tell, Volume 1 is currently available only in electronic form, and the printed book can be pre-ordered at many places (https://google.com/search?q=9781718502826).

There is already a review (https://blogs.newardassociates.com/blog/2024/book-review-art-of-arm-assembly.html) of the book by Ted Neward but alas, he has mistaken the author's name with Ronald Kneusel and its end.

This forum has an entire section (https://masm32.com/board/index.php?board=56.0) dedicated to the Kip Irvine's book, so let it have at least a topic (this topic!) dedicated to this book.

At this point, the predicted date for the freeware version of the book is February 2025. It has slipped quite a bit over the past year (originally was to be delivered at the end of 3Q24), so who knows?
Cheers,
Randy Hyde

Thanks for the info! According to Murphy's laws, everything takes longer than you think. So it's normal.

In what formats will it be available? Epub? PDF?
