For some reason, Qeditor does not update the file date when a file is edited.

It shows the correct date for new files correctly.

Strange ?

Remember there are three file dates. You probably look at the creation date, not the last modification date (the third one is last access). Tell your file manager to use the last modification, and you will see that QE handles file dates correctly.
