Title: Blue Ray software update
Post by: Magnum on December 08, 2013, 09:38:33 PM
Confused on Blue Ray software update process.

I would like to update the software on my BR player.

You can either burn it to a CD or install it using the ethernet connection.

Sony says not to use a RW disk, only a write once disk. I only have RW disks.
Consequences of using one include totally trashing the player.

I hooked up a ethernet cable, but it can not make a network connection.

This is all new to me.

there are forum sites that have programs for this
try this one - if no luck, google around a bit

ok - well, i can update the firmware in my optical drives with a program
after it's done, i may have to re-boot to make the new code take affect
very simple
i have never seen one that i had to update at boot only,
except from a manufacturer that's too lazy to write an app for it - lol
just use a 3rd party app

I burned it to a DVD-R and it updated in 1 minute.
