i find the only way that really works correctly is to use the "Wireless Connection Wizard"

Make sure your computer is using DHCP and check the DNS settings in the router.

It is using those settings.

I can't believe the amount of difficulty for this task,
I think I will eventually get it going.

The back has 4 LAN ports and one WAN port.

I am just using LAN 1.

I don't think it is my 2 antennas.

Wifi card has a speed range of 12 - 64 Mbps while the wireless router has a speed of 100 Mbps.

WiFi single antenna is about 1 inch in length as opposed to 10 inches for both antennas of my router.

This is back of my router, cat 5 cable is connected to Ethernet connection of both my laptop that has Win XP and a desktop system with Linux.

Where is the internet connection?

I thought that the 2 antenna's would be picking it up from the apt. office ?

Like my wifi card in my laptop does.

Anyone with experience with this ?

I need to use the wireless router as a client bridge - in other words, a wifi adaptor, not an access point. with my DESKTOP.

Look in the user guide for "universal repeater mode", I think that's what you're trying to do.

Thanks Sinsi.

I tried to copy text from the manual file (pdf) using Foxit reader but could not.

It says that with Universal Repeater, the router can be both a access point and wireless client at the same time.

I will see how to do that.

I uploaded the manual here.

I managed to set it to universal repeater mode, but there is more to be done.

I can not figure out what to do next.

I posted to zyxel forum, but have not heard back.

I have a Fast Ethernet switch and was wondering if I could use it with the wireless router to get an internet connection.

I am getting desperate.  :t

You need to enter the wifi SSID and password into your zyxel router, this makes your router an "extension" of the wifi.

I have typed in both IP addresses and can not get a SSID for my wifi ?

With each mistake, I should be getting closer to the answer.  :t

The Zyxel wireless router is not working properly.

I would like to return the defective item.

I could not find your Customer Service info.
