Hi Everyone,

My name is Roger.  I live in Pennsylvania, US.  My background is mainly in C programming, though I have used other similar languages.

I want to improve my understanding of computers at the machine level so that I can be a better programmer.  For example I would like to be able to read a dump file and understand what it is trying to tell me or what hints it holds.

I have done some research on the available options and I am still not completely clear on the pros and cons of the different approaches to assembly language and the many different assemblers available.

I think this is a good place to learn.  Please let me know if I am wrong.  :)

Don't imagine you'll be getting many arguments to that.   Anyways, you are definitely making the right choice and there are a lot of really good programmers here.
