Even though Linux is my primary O.S., I have been considering upgrading to Win 7 from XP.
Can it do anything that XP cannot ?

I like it. My old notebook still runs XP with no problems, but Win7-64 feels nice. The taskbar is done much better.
Thanks for your feedback.
I have a 64 bit system.
How is the task bar better ?
Imagine you have a dozen pages open in your browser. You hover over the taskbar, and the whole list shows, with all titles and the option to close them individually. Most useful feature discovered so far.
Andy,
my Windows 7-64 is working very well and stable since 2 years. It's worth to install. You should give it a try. But it has drawbacks, too. You must run old 16-bit software inside a VM.

I do not care about 16 bit programs, just about 32 bit programs.

Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names
Math 6:14-15 (NIV) "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But, if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."
Andy,
fine that you're so Bible states, but the copyright is by JFK (http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/26981.html).
