Glad I had a backup computer.

My Hp 6730b will not go beyond it's opening screen when cold booting.

I got to use a rescue pendrive once and reset the mbr etc.

Now it will not let me boot to a rescue USB drive any more.

Anything else I can try ?

Hi,

You could try unplugging the hard drive. Divide and conquer, try
to find what is failing.

I will have to look up how to take my laptop apart.

Lot harder than a desktop. :-)

removing the hard drive is probably very easy - usually 2 screws
look on youtube - there are many videos for different laptops

I took the laptop apart and reseated my memory as well as doing a general cleaning up.

It boots but their is no video ?? :-(

AFAIN, I reconnected everything.
