Title: Optical digital audio question
Post by: Magnum on July 13, 2015, 01:20:41 PM
I have a tv that has an optical digital audio output port.

I want to be able hook up some external speakers and amplifier.

But I do not know what I need to get ?

Here's my advice on what to get: Get away from the TV! Get a good book, get a ticket to the zoo, get to a park and take a walk, get a friend and interact socially. Get a gun, and shoot the d**n TV. Alternatively, get an axe and chop it into little pieces

Hope that helps

Unless you have exceptional hearing, and watch TV in a sound-proofed room, or live in an area with strong electrical interference, I don't expect you'll notice any difference in quality over good quality copper cabling.

Presumably, you'd need an amp. with optical input, and an optical cable to connect the two.
