Title: Anyone gonna build UI for VR Glasses?
Post by: Farabi on December 01, 2015, 07:56:18 PM
I sent one of the glasses to an Open Source Project Manager. If you had access to lazada where they can send you the goods, I`ll pay for it. I had 50 bucks left on my account. Please typ "Lazada" and see wheter you can access it from your country.

I also would like to ask, what is the good resolution division for our eyes, and wheter will it be good for it if each eye having a diferent UI? As far as I can see I saw a transparent box shape if I put the box shape on one of the eye. But if I use 2 camera for my 2 eyes, I cant process the image. So for some thing, like, the icon I should place I need to draw the icon on both eyes. But for the notification, I can use both eyes to process it individualy. For now, I did not use any text, just a color.

I think I`ll use android CP for the glasses main processor, and I used my windows tablet for the image processing, mostly, OpenGL. If it is feasible, I`ll use OpenGL from both processor unit and merged it by the depth buffer. This should good and make the frame rate high. The only lack of this VR glasses is, it does not gave me a camera slot. And since the camera was on my left eye, I need some information to adjust the position in order for my sight understanding to be normal. If the distance was more to left, or right, after I take off my glasses, it will be very difficult for me to walk on my normal sight.

This could be cool in combination with a 5 - 7 inch hdmi screen connected to a windows computer.  8)
Then make your own apps in MASM.

This would be fun though.

The price seems to come down within reach lately for 1920x1080 versions.. this plus 3D printing for HMDs.. bingo.. I'll start next year.
