Title: Low level format of pendrive
Post by: Magnum on December 10, 2015, 03:21:27 PM
I used to have a neat program that would do a low level format of a pen drive.

In MY IGNORANCE, I failed to keep a copy of it.

(I am trying to transfer files to a laptop that a very good friend gave to me.)

If I have to throw it away, no problem.

But if it is salvageable, I would like to recover it.

Andy,

If you just want an empty pen drive to transfer data with, why not use the facility in either "My Computer" to format the drive OR the disk management console. Unless the drive is physically damaged it should be a trivial task.

I put the pendrive into another usb slot and it read it o.k.

Guess the other usb slot has just gone bad. Computer is around 10 years old.
