Title: MP3 adventures.
Post by: hutch-- on December 07, 2016, 01:00:26 AM
Long ago I owned a vinyl of Andres Segovia called "Live On Stage" and the end tracks were by an English composer called John Duarte and not for love nor money could I find the tracks again on any of the sites on the internet. After much scouring, Google searches and the like I found a re-release of the 3 tracks on an album called "Andres Segovia - Dedication" on Youtube. Downloaded 135 meg as a single MP3 I then hunted up a freeware app called "Free MP3 Cutter", spent a couple of minutes learning the interface then chopped the last 3 track out of the full MP3 and BINGO, I have got the bloody things at last.

Too old school for me :)

I just announce:
Alexa, play Dedication by Andres Segovia.

I subscribe to Amazon's full music service and have a couple of Echo Dots each connected to their own Creative gigaworks T20 speakers.

It is amazing the number of songs they have. I tried to stump it with a song my band played back in the 60's -> "Jolly Green Giant". It announced the title and group(?) and started playing it!!

One of the most beautiful songs that I have heard with Spanish guitar is the Aranjuez concert (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8LL1x6J2rU)

Thanks for the link, the girl is a very good player. Shame I could not hear her play the 3 tracks written by John Duarte.

Apparently, she play  Andres Segovia's adaptations.  At some point perhaps she will play "Round Dance" (the third part of the Duarte's "English Suite").
It's very important recording quality, and it's not posible to make  new AndrĂ©s Segovia recordings.
