So we've been thinking about the name HJWASM... it doesn't really roll off the tongue. We'd tried to keep it close to JWASM out of respect for the work done to that point with the prefix H, but I think now it's time for a change.
So I'd like to invite suggestions for the new name 8)
Won't be easy to find a good alternative name. I got used to it :bgrin:
Pro: HJWasm cares for Habran, John, Japheth and the Watcom gang
Contra: The name is not sexy enough for Oprah's and Letterman's shows :(
The Symbol, or the assembler formerly known as HJWASM ;)
Hmmm... TAFKASH?
OpenAsm
ModernAsm
OASM (open assembler)
I'm thiniking that and present name is not bad, but name of exe and env varibale possible stay WAsm - as it compatible with it originally. And that's very simple to do, and I'm already using such - that not to type much in command line.
We would like to change the name to HASM
HAnkinson & HAbus | SM = HASM  8)

I have been thinking that AWASM is the coolest and sexiest name your imagination can find - "A" means Advanced. You keep the family radix WASM, you keep the technology radix ASM.
What about Hankinson & Habus & Japeth & Watcom & assembler ?
HaHaJaWa sounds sexy
HASM sounds the best of the lot, OASM (Open Assembler) sounds OK, IASM (Independent Assembler) has a good ring to it, drop what you can with the Watcom name, WASM was an old toothless pig and Japheth performed miracles to turn it into JWASM. Perhaps even IA (Independent Assembler), no need to follow anyone else's naming convention.
H2OASM | H2OASM (Hankinson & Habus Open Assembler) ?
WaSPAM(not the email kind, but the good eating kind) I am a big fan of spam and cheese toasted sandwiches.
You know in Hawaii they have spam Sushi!!
Hi,
How about ASM*? Call it ASM Star. Joking of course.
Sorry,

Sorry, couldn“t avoid suggesting something:
JAWS-m
At least you keep the same letters and give it a dangerous twist to it

Very good!
HASM it was/is :)
Packages and Github are all updated to reflect the new name.
The new location on the site is www.terraspace.co.uk/hasm.html (http://www.terraspace.co.uk/hasm.html) but the original files/hjwasm.html still exist so they redirect.
