"Le Chant des Templiers, Salve Regina, Manuscrit du Saint Sépulcre de Jérusalem, 12e siècle.mp4"

Knight's Templar call to arms.

Very beautiful singing!  :icon_eek:
Found the whole album! - Ensemble Organum (Marcel Peres) - Le Chant des Templiers - 2006
QuoteThe music recorded here is taken from a twelfth century manuscript that originated in the basilica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, based on the liturgical practices of the Knights Templar, a non-monastic order founded to protect Jerusalem and the Christians who made pilgrimage there. The CD avoids the monotony that can sometimes afflict recordings of Very Early Music. The variety of styles -- monophonic chant, melodies sung over a drone, parallel organum (in which several voices sing the same melody at the interval of the fifth or octave), and three-part polyphony -- maintains a high level of interest. The musical material strays frequently from the strict modal practices that characterized music more closely connected with Roman liturgical traditions and is sometimes astonishingly chromatic and dissonant. The free use and style of ornamentation demonstrate the influences of the musical culture of the Middle East. Several of the pieces have a stronger feeling of a regular pulse than much chant, reflecting the physical, almost dance-like motions that conductor Marcel Pérès describes as being an integral part of the original performance of this repertoire. The music and the performances are genuinely gripping and should be revelatory for anyone whose only experience with music from this period has been pallid performances of unison plainchant.

Ensemble Organum sings this repertoire with conviction and simplicity. The voices are obviously well trained and the intonation and ensemble are excellent, but the vocal quality is unmannered and direct, ideally suited to the self-effacing aesthetic appropriate for music not intended for performance, but as an act of worship within a close-knit community. The recording was made in the wonderfully resonant 900-year-old Abbey of Fontevraud and effectively conveys the vastness of the acoustical space without sacrificing clarity.

LiaoMi,

Thanks for the info, found a vendor, bought the album, trimmed and equalised all 8 tracks and they have come out really well. I had heard some of them before but lousy copies, fix them and they sound great.

I have always like the Ridly Scott movie "Kingdom of Heaven" and it had an interesting sound track that matched the period it was set in but the album I bought is a different form of music. The album are sung in unison and are called in English "plain song".

I really love that he despite all temptations he always follows the path of being good Knight

I really like good movie quotes and when the hero speaks to his army before going to a hopeless battle and also likes churchill speaches and the "dark hour" movie
some quotes also from babylon 5 are great

I was a fan of Babylon 5, it has something unusual, a PLOT. The 2 old fellas, Londo and G'Kar were the real talent in that series, Boxleitner was a walking vacuum.

I loved B5. Unfortunately there is no streaming available, at least not in Italy. Btw G'Kar alias Andreas Katsulas died in 2006 :(

Babylon 5 was great. I also likes Galactica and "The man from atlantis". I have some plans to stream those kind of series, but here ion Brasil is hard to achieve the rights to do it. Not necessarily for a financial problem, but here the main board of warner and others corporations don´t  release those great series. I have no idea why. Eventually once my company is up and running i´ll end up being forced to get the authorial rights for streaming outside the country. The main problem here in Brazil of old series is the fact that people are destroying the old dubbing and replacing with new crappy stuff.

I have the physical 5 seasons DVD boxes+two episodes released long afterwards about exorcism and technomages
unfortunatly no spinoff here, the one about Sheridans Son
listening to commentary tracks, explains a lot of things, why Bruce Boxleitner acts like that
the Doctor also have died

I really hate dubbing movies, except one masterpiece made in Italy and second version was dubbed and released a year after and became the greatest western movie:"the good, the bad and the ugly",only the main characters spoke english, the rest was all kinds of European actors that was dubbed and the music was great

it feels so wrong, when famous actors sound very different when speaking german and I think tvshows and movies should be an asset that are subtitled,so people can learn foreign language or the language in the country you migrated to,not something that sounds wrong when you hear them speak a very different sounding language and protects you from learning foreign language

@Guga
would be interesting to let you try one of the old WWII b/w documentary and colorize it and compare to the "WWII in color" you can buy or see on fact tv channel

I have seen a lot of original colour footage from ww2 but the best was the Agfa colour film developed in Germany showing many interesting shots of Hitler, his girlfriend and even Heidrich. The latter stuff in the Pacific was American and good quality for its era.

If you ever wanted to hear really bad dubbing, look for an old Japanese television series called "The Samurai" starring Koichi Ose. It was made in the 1960s and was very well done except for the dubbing that was done in Hawaii.

much is Eva Braun who used camera much in Hitlers place up in the castle, after all Eva was discovered in her fathers photoshop

I have DVD box of  air heroes and John Wayne stars in one of them, they use loads of ww2 authentic films in pacific ,much looks like camera photos from guncameras that the planes had to confirm kills

isnt that television show they talk about and show in documentary about "Kill Bill" they tell they where inspired by this old series and especially one famous master swordmaker that makes unbreakable swords,is reused and meantioned  in "Kill Bill"

well about the dubbing,English to german is probably easier to dub, because those are closer related to each other, must be lot harder to dub japanese to english because they are very different

Usually there are two girl voices: a classical opera singer and the fautist. I think, in this records (Kiyamet Senfonisi) the opera singer was some kind of turquish national treasure, and was part of an official cultural proyect (also a classical orchestra).
