I for one am suspicious about the rocket that NASA sent to the moon supposedly to see if there was water on the moon https://www.france24.com/en/20091009-nasa-bombs-moon-find-water , then there's this recent event that's even more mysterious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFOibCRYwnI

Entertaining, certainly, but if you actually believe that shit, then you're definitely a nutcase.

recently I have seen a lot of reports of UFO sightings, could there be any truth to this video?
fyi, the protagonist in the video said that the next concocted threat by the world governments would be UFO's
here's one headline https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/ufo-sightings-skyrocket-some-have-unusual-flight-characteristics-or-performance-capabilities/ar-AA16llnB?cvid=888cded5a759415cbeb809403d1d3e05&ocid=winp2fptaskbarhover
almost every day there are new reports about UFO's

If true, it would be awesome.
Especially if the technology becomes open source.
Then we can finally save Mother Earth. :bgrin:

There are not UFO reports anymore!!
Now serious reports are about UAP

Y'know, there's a lot of stuff up in the sky that we really know nothing about, atmospheric phenomena and such that look for all the world like alien spaceships or who knows what.
I was in Hungary back in 1995, staying as a guest in an empty army barracks outside of Budapest, when we went outside and saw the weirdest shit in the sky. Hard to describe, and I don't remember exactly what it looked like, but there were definitely shapes and colors moving around overhead above us in mysterious patterns. Not searchlights or anything easily recognizable like that. We never did find out just what that was.
OTOH, I do firmly believe that not only have aliens been here before, but they built some amazing structures, like these stone monoliths at Sacsahuaman in Peru (https://www.ticketmachupicchu.com/fortress-sacsayhuaman/): These enormous stone blocks are fitted together so closely that you can't even get a knife blade in between them. No way humans could have built those back then. Same for the pyramids in Egypt.

That's just a fancy-schmancy name change to make it sound more scientifical, like from "manic depression" to "bipolar syndrome".

I agree with the comment that there are things in antiquity that do not fit with the available technology of their time. While some of the Youtube videos look and sound like hungry people pumping out anything they can to keep up their hit rate, there are valid questions that are not being answered and reasonable exposures of government cover ups on a range of things.
Recent USAF footage of flying objects travelling at speeds well beyond what current technology would allow, shows that the attitudes in governments is changing. One of the things going for relaxing the level of censureship over reported oddities is the desire to reverse engineer some of the things that have been found, Roswell is just one of them.
One of the theories that makes sense to me is that instead of visitation only being in the recent century, they have been happening for a very long time, into the millions of years and many different ancient cultures including some European more recent ones, have artwork depicting flying technology.
Now if you live in a location where governments still censure strange reports, if you ever see anything that looks like a space ship, report it as a weather balloon causing mass hallucinations and you will probably be given a job in the government's propaganda department.

I've devoured loads of SF books in my youth, initially space operas, then more advanced stuff. I love SF, I love Men in Black and Avatar and Alien and the Terminator series and so on.
Yet, science tells us that travelling to our neighbours is kind of difficult. Do wormholes really exist? Has anybody managed to use them, if they exist?
My best bet for accessible life outside Earth is Jupiter: in its atmosphere there is a band about 45km thick, in which the temperatures correspond to those that make life possible on Earth. All kinds of interesting substances, such as water, ammonia, H2S, phosphine and others, cavort in this band.
The volume of this band corresponds to a good 16,000 times that of all terrestrial oceans combined. If there is life outside the Earth in our solar system, it is there. However, it would be life forms that a) float in the atmosphere and b) have never seen the stars, or the Sun. They might be very intelligent, who knows, but without knowing that there is a sun, and that there other planets, why should they develop space travel?

You can say that again.
Small example: In the late 1990s a team of Egyptologists and engineers attempted to build a small replica of the Great Pyramid at Giza, for a NOVA (US public television) documentary. The pyramid was to be about 6 meters high by about 9 meters square at the base. They were to use only technology available at the time the pyramids were built.
They utterly failed. As I remember, they even failed when they cheated and brought in some 20th century heavy equipment. They simply could not build a tiny, tiny model of the great pyramid.
Here's a look at their attempt (https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/egypt/raising/first.html) (failed as well) to erect a stone obelisk, something the ancients managed to do all the time (with the help of aliens, of course!).

Many years ago I made a trip to Egypt, and our guide showed us one obelisk lying around in the sand. About 80 tonnes or so, and (being an engineer) I had not the faintest idea how to transport that beast with today's means.

Space alien tractor beams!

That obelisk travel from Egypt to Rome in boat, 2000 years ago.

Must be hard to create that effect in better resolution!

Its all in the wrist action.
Some years ago when working on the house, I had to move a 1 foot square by 5 foot long stone block from the back door where it was first built (in 1874) to a new back door that I had built the footings for. Done in a confined space (the excavation for the foundations [about 4 feet deep]) and did it with a collection of large pieces of hardwood, balance, levers and a lot of gut busting.
Its a mistake to assume that people in the past were dumb, they knew how to do many things that are not common these days. I have seen the example of workers in the Cairo museum moving around massive statues with bits of wood and leverage.
-
Moldova, eh? Yes, I know they're not Russians, and believe me, I am not anti-Russian. But let's just remember what shitty "science" they did back in the day; can you say "Lysenko"? So no, not convincing at all.

NASA ==> https://www.aulis.com/ :wink2:
-
Well, I dunno about those cuckoo theories about Apollo, but the material on Stanley Kubrick is fascinating. He really was that obsessive about detail.
-
Jack,
I have the advantage of having been around back when NASA first sent men to the moon and when what was recorded was done on FILM, not modern digital. We saw the footage from Cape Kanaveral with the rocket taking off, the news tracked it and we saw the first footage of a man on the moon.
I have heard a lot of bullsh*t about no stars in the background but these donkeys forget that FILM does not have the dynamic range in such bright sunlight (like it is on the moon with no atmosphere) and to get the right exposure for the direct sun lit surface, you can forget the blackness of space and stars in the background.
For 1960s technology, it was impressive stuff, particularly when the technology to "fake it" having not existed back then. If you ever have a good look at the Japanese moon explorer, JAXA, you get to see the landing sites, vehicle tracks and bits left behind.
-
hutch, the rockets I was referring to were the the missiles that NASA launched to the moon supposedly to determine if there was water on/in the moon, not the Apollo rockets

Rocket, missile.. whatever it's name is (eg Apollo). Very much the same thing.
Only problem seems to be, is getting the rocket back to the blue ball 'safely'.. that's where the narrative falls apart.
In any event we're about to find out the real story in the next year or two = exciting times.
