Title: Another power of 2.
Post by: hutch-- on June 17, 2012, 10:34:22 AM
I made 64 today but it will be some time before I make the next power of 2. I just have to make sure I live long enough to get back some of the tax I have paid over a lifetime.  :P

From now on, you will only be setting and resetting the bits behind that lonely "64" bit, that is until you finally turn on that "32" bit and the "64" bit will not be alone anymore. That should be your ultimate goal.

Happy birthday Hutch.

Why wait for 128:

 2^6 = 64
 3^4 = 81
 5^3 =125
11^2=121

Many happy blonds!

64 - wow, that's incredibly old :dazzled:
... and it raises important questions, such as
- can you still handle blondes at that age,
- will you abandon Masm32,
- in favour of golf or of Masm64,
- do you plan to fill the lower bits to reach 127,
... etc etc ;)

Happy birthday :t

Well, I am definitely aiming for 0 based 127, the supply of blondes increases rapidly at my age, albeit silver blondes, MASM32 still has life in it, 64 bit will come at about the rate of the second coming but you can forget golf, anything where you bashed a ball with a stick I used to hit too hard, table tennis was a disaster, I used to be able to hit the back wall regularly.  :P

fortunately, your ability to catch blondes depletes with your interest in them   :P

in our younger days, we might have worn tennies to catch 'em...

...now...
i envision a pretty young lassie, chasing a beach ball along the beautiful coast of Australia...
...and Hutch following along behind her with his cane, "hey girlie, what's your hurry ?"

How difficult is to get licence (as is your) to distribute new versions of ml & link ?? why not ???

I get on famously well with good looking blondes, then you ask them if they have a good looking maiden aunt.

Rockphorr,

You contact Microsoft and ask them but don't hold your breath waiting for a positive response. In the mean time, if you want to distribute a 64 bit assembler, whats wrong with JWASM ? FASM does 64 bit as well and I suspect GoAsm does as well.

That is ok. Just I think that it was very useble to have all ml & link to all platform (16 bit, 32bit 64 bit) in one package. Masm32 is your brandname. We don't need clones, we need to apply it surround. It is just my imho only.

Happy birthday again. Good luck.
