I am not really sure how these things are handled in the US but I gather the 4th of July is a big deal so to all of our American members, hope you all have a great day. In OZ Australia day has its share of ceremonies, flag waving and the like but most just take it as a holiday, if its sunny go to the beach, if the cricket is on go to the game if its in your city, if its raining watch it on TV and make sure you sleep in. No point in wasting a good day standing around listening to some clapped out politician mouthing platitudes when you could do something useful like sleep.

To all:
May the Fourth be with you!
A day for U.S. citizens to appreciate what is possible, and to challenge the warped words of politicians.

Though I have the day off I can’t wait until the 4th is over with. I haven’t had a good nights sleep in near a week because of nightly fireworks going off about the neighborhood. This will continue until the first of next week I suppose. Oh well, I was once a kid too so as long as they don't burn my house down I’ll deal with the noise until then.
Happy 4th of July!!

The fourth of July, in the U.S. (even if you are a true patriot) is really just another excuse to get drunk and watch the fireworks.
...So, yes,...I was happy,...and, almost completely oblivious to reality,...
Thanks.
