- It's IMPORTANT that you make a correct gender determination before wasting a lot of money trying to buy an extraterrestrial's affections.

- Remember, that Extraterrestrials are PSYCHIC,...so, pretending to be intergalactically cool will likely get you converted to Dark Matter.

Juno is approaching Jupiter, and one article said "closest distance ever, 4200 km". But I remembered vaguely that on one occasion, an object was thrown right into the atmosphere, so after a while I found this great document: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/fact_sheets/galileo0309.pdf
No evidence on extraterrestrials, though. My best guess is that the giant manta-like beasts in the dense Jupiter atmosphere understood that the object with the parachute was a spy, and gave it a big kick before it could send photos 8)

You're right ... it's the closest Juno has been; also, the closest any spacecraft has orbited Jupiter. But I also saw an article that said, incorrectly, no spacecraft has ever been closer. Obviously they misunderstood the NASA press release. Unfortunately I can't find it again. Don't believe what you read on the internet - unless you read it on MASM32.COM
