Audio/Visual Desktop Capture to LAN software (not internet)

Anyone know of cheaper/free audio/visual presentaion software that I can use on a local network only.
It can have internet capability but this is not a priority.

Idea is to capture the desktop screen (or audio/video, vga, hdmi over usb/usb-c) and push it to many client computers/projectors on the local network. The preferably a server/client package in one or they can be seperate.

We're changing our Lab A/V systems, and find that even the available hardware cannot meet our needs without massive unnecessary complication (and big $$$)... and most stuff today the servers are online (don't want that :nie:)

Looked at a few free things, VLC.. etc, but nothing that works yet.

Failing all that I'll have to code it.. but feeling lazy. :skrewy:

Probably OBS and VLC

Yes, I agree with 'fearless' I would also suggest OBS Studio
I have successfully used it previously to 'capture' Live talks in an auditorium and produce replayable and uploadable Video's of the events.

It can record (and produce resultant video), as well as Streaming (simultaneously), has multiple inputs Audio & Visual and can Scale to desired output size & Format etc.

Takes a little while to 'get' the interface options but overall, works really well and is IMHO, an excellent  product, with a LOT of very active and knowledgeable users with good documentation and (as suggested), a great user base and helpful forum etc.

NB: I don't really think this is the best or correct place for this question, so will probably move it to the Orphanage

Oh, c'mon, Stoo: why nitpick? I'm getting sick and tired of all the messages whizzing around here being moved; makes my head spin. Can't you just let this be?
Assembly language programming should be fun. That's why I do it.

The Workshop is for Masm32 (and Masm64) SDK-related coding questions. I can't see any code here, so moving it to the Orphanage is a perfectly reasonable decision - thanks, Stewart

Hello,

Stewart is right, this thread should be moved to the Orphanage.

QuoteThe Workshop
The Workshop is where general purpose questions and answers are posted. Any assembler programming topic is welcome and discussion is encouraged as long as its friendly.

I'm pretty damn sure OBS studio Wasn't written in Assembler, maybe there IS a program like K_F was looking for that is, but I somehow doubt it
Forum Sections are there to actually make it Easier to find Topic related material, Not to just be a general 'Mish-Mash' of anything and everything, everywhere you go.

How about I delete ALL the various Boards and just create ONE Huge New Board, where Everything gets posted and you can Scroll your life away trying to find stuff, like ZuckerbergBook ??

Where would you suggest this post should have been placed ?? and what in it's content qualifies it to remain here ??
PLUS, there will be a 'Re-direct' left 'In Place', that will take you straight to the moved topic.

I honestly, do Not see the problem, Sorry, I hope you can live with it being moved. :wink2:

Thanks fearless.
OBS is one of the ones I'm looking at... just need to go into it with more depth.

Just to annoy / confuse Some people even More ...  :wink2:  :joking:
When this 'post' was made there was only the Orphanage that seemed appropriate.

I have since created a Hardware & Software section, specifically for topics like this, so have moved it to that section.

I am Sure this will not be an 'issue'  :wink2:
