I don't think that's quite what I meant.

Do you host this site yourself, on your own server? That's what I was referring to. This is someone else's site that you hire out, correct?

[question answered by sinsi's last post above; yes, it is possible to host your own "cloud"]
Assembly language programming should be fun. That's why I do it.

No, that would be foolish. If our house burns down, all USB sticks, notebooks, external harddisks and the server would be gone. It's a lot safer to store my data with a company that specialises in this area.

Jochen don't forget stolen computers, own server crashes

What about cloud storage that comes suggested after updated Win10?

Worse security issues is if uploaded source code is from company is hacked, no concern hobby programmer about already published code

Right

I guess it's easier to steal my notebook than to steal my ftp password

Let me suggest another backup storage scheme: local portable storage devices (HDD, USB thumb drive, etc.), with a redundant off-site storage device that periodically gets backed up to.

Having written this, I don't think I'd ever be on top of things enough to do that, plus I have no off-site site, but maybe other more astute folks might find it a good solution. (I have local storage backup, which is susceptible to the catastrophes JJ described.)

If your house is burned down when you are not at home,Source code and few kb. Obj and. Exe produced by assembler fits in smart phone memory
Newer phones comes with alot of built in memory, older phones can be upgraded with bigger ext sd card, if older phone breaks down you can pull out ext sd card and put in USB converter

97€ for one TB, not bad. However, I've had bad experiences with USB sticks that gave up the ghost after some years.

I have a small (2Gb) USB thumb drive that I've been using since, oh, about 2010 or so. Still zero problems. Anecdotal evidence, I know, but still ...

It's my SneakerNet device between my main (Windows 7) computer and my "scanning station" (Windows 2000).

Ssd and micro sd that is more expensive because its faster, but for older pc that only has usb 2.0 connectors bottleneck external ssd performance ,go for bigger usb drive instead of faster ssd ?
Older pad and phone not capable of record very hires videos those extra fast micro sd are for i doubt there is much advantage over buy standard speed micro sd ?

static electric shocks can kill USB sticks easily.
i lost backups in that way.

Isn't forget to use them sometimes recharge them lose their data
I also use mechanical external drive for backup + 128gb USB drive + all source code and. Obj,.Exe contained in program development folders copied to my Android devices +. Txt versions of. Asm,.Inc,.cpp files
