I pay for my computer.
I pay for the software.
I pay for the internet.
I pay the taxes on all this.
I pay for the electric to run it.
I pay for the doctor bills when I get sick from
the aggravation of these advertisers putting stuff on my
computer unasked.
I just did a fresh install on windows 7 pro 64-bit and today
I could not access the internet.
Not sure but it might be "Sendori". If you have this on you
computer get it off if you can.
Sorry for the rant :(

we've all been there, Jack

best thing i can tell you.....
build it up with windows 7
get the security in place
add the programs you want to use (you might leave large apps out)
adjust the settings the way you like

then, make a back-up image   :t

We won't hold it against if you go back to XP.

Agreed, XP was nice but so is 7. Xp didn't stop the people using my computer
to sell their unasked crap or whatever.
The new ones are toys for the kids and I will never get one of those.

big business sees an oportunity to put an ad in your face - they're gonna take it

there is an upside, though

many free services are offered because of advertising
free e-mail, instant/video messaging, online storage, social media, search engines, games, the list goes on and on
many applications and technologies are developed for advertising that have other uses, too

so - even though ads are not desirable, the internet might be a boring place without them

it's kinda like advances in medical technology that were spawned from war-time tech
